Hell is no place to repent: Pastor

Faith

A PASTOR in Jiwaka is appealing to Christians to repent and turn to Christ while they are alive and the word of God is also alive in them.
“Repent and receive Christ when still alive; it’s never too late to go to heaven,” says Ps Amos Nandie.
Nandie, in his sermon during the 20th graduation of the Wesleyan Bible College in Jiwaka last Friday, said that the word of God was still alive in them when they were still living.
He told the graduates, lecturers, church leaders and others that it would be too late to repent and be saved after death.
He centred his message on the Bible story of two men, on one side was a rich man, and on the other a beggar called Lazarus, from the Gospel of Luke (Lk 16:19).
Nandie said that according to the gospel, the rich man who enjoyed a life of luxury on Earth forgot about the Lord and when he died, he went to hell.
He said the rich man recognised the value of the word of God when in hell.
Nandie said that when people died, it would be too late to repent.
He said that in order to enter eternal life, people must accept Christ as the saviour and live according to his teaching as told in the Bible.
He told the four new graduating pastors that it was a call from the Lord to reach his people and plant his word in their life.
“You are starting a new challenging journey, there will be many obstacles along the road, but with God everything will be possible,” he said.
Nandie said that there were many people who knew Christ but needed to receive them as their saviour.
“When everybody accepts Christ, the law and order problems experienced in the country will disappear.”
Nandie told the new pastors that they had a huge responsibility in the communities that they would be living in and serving the people.
