BUSINESS groups in Chuave district, Chimbu, with Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) certificates will get financial assistance, local MP Wera Mori says.
“Only business groups that have registered with IPA will get financial assistance under Chuave district small to medium enterprises (SME) to be rolled out for the second time very soon,” Mori said.
He said the Chuave SME programme had assisted many aspiring businessmen and women to venture further, since the first roll-out last year.
Mori said the district would go for second roll-out this year but would firstly screen individuals and groups to find out whether they were serious before they get assistance.
“In Chuave we have an economic landscape that is completely different from the rest of the districts, I am committed to creating an enterprising environment to grow local economy,’’ he said.
He said under the economic sector, they had given assistance to people who were already in business and those who were serious in growing businesses to grow the economy of the district.
“Individuals and groups with the heart to grow the economy of the district will be assisted, those who want to just get help but are not serious will not be considered,” he said.
