Helping women

HELPING women own a smallholding farm will boost productivity, introduce new products and generate business.
It is very encouraging to see Mama Helpim Mama Foundation (MHMF) helping our mothers in Ialibu grow and sell vegetables.
Thanks to Ruth Undi, the founder and chairperson of Mama Helpim Mama Foundation, this self-help women’s group is getting a contract from Stop and Shop for a containerload of vegetables a week.
This will allow the mothers to plough the land for the commercial farming of vegetables and livestock and access loans or participate in corporative societies.
Ruth is also giving her plane to fly the produce to Port Moresby.
This selfless act of philanthropy is a homegrown initiative from a person who lived through the challenges our mothers faced in an evolving and contemporary Papua New Guinea.
