CENTRE Emmanuel Herea’s 59th minute try helped Taurama Wolfpack shock A Grade ladder leaders Kaugere Bulldogs 12-8 in the Moresby South Rugby League competition on Sunday.
Bulldogs scored first after a set move saw winger Gerald Vaieke dive over on the right edge and Isaac Yanis made no mistake with the conversion for a 6-0 lead at Moresby South Stadium.
Wolfpack responded with winger Veari Peter crossing over for unconverted try to trail 4-6 but Bulldogs hit back with penalty goal for an 8-4 lead.
Wolfpack equalised through Mala Kua before Herea broke the deadlock with a strong carry from 30m out.
“We rushed our attack and did not complete our sets, especially in the second half,” Bulldogs’ Joe Omaro said.
“We need to be disciplined in crucial games if we are to stand a chance of securing the minor premiership.”
The win elevated Wolfpack to second spot as they continued their winning streak to create shockwaves across the competition.
