Hidden secret interests Aussies

Hidden secret interests Aussies … The story of Jimmy Wapi’s “hidden secret” last week had caught the interest of the Australian High Commission. The high commission hoped that if the aircraft was an Australian war plane this would be of value to the Australian War Memorial.
Yesterday, two Australian army officers Major Rod Clavang and Capt Theo Hagis, stationed at Igam Barracks travelled to the home of Jimmy Wapi at 4-Mile on instructions from the high commission. They were instructed to inspect the wreck and forward information to the high commission which would decide on the next course of action.  The officers were also keen to check the pistol that was dug out near the propeller. The officers indicated that the pistol could be either Australian or American. – Words and picture by DAISY TANIOVA PAWA
