High school to get K1.8m infrastructure
The National, Monday September 23rd, 2013
THE Port Moresby National High School is to have a K1.8 million lecture and conference centre.
Students, teachers, the school council and guests witnessed a groundbreaking ceremony for the new centre last week.
Education Secretary Dr Michael Tapo said the government’s priority was on school excellence and Port Moresby National High was one of the schools that were improving its infrastructure to improve the teaching and learning environment.
“Those of you who come to this school are very fortunate because this school is a very good school headed by a man who was recently recognised by the government as a man of Logohu and you should be very proud,” Tapo said.
He said on behalf of Finance and Education Minister James Marape that money would be given to help the school.
School principal David Kereme Diowai told the students: “This new facility is for you and I, and for the future.
“What we are doing now is history and we must be proud of this school.”
The new centre is scheduled to be opened in April next year.
