High taxes, poor miners

Letters

MINING workers in the country are highly taxed. People work and work but at the end of the day they still live in rented accommodation and cannot improve their standard of living.
The reason behind that is that they are over-taxed, rental fees are taxed and food in the shopping centres are taxed as well.
When will the government change the contract with all mining companies to develop a housing scheme for all citizens who are currently working in the mines?
The companies are here to reap all the resources and they will be gone after that. The government should seriously look into this because Papua New Guineans are suffering big time.
Does the government care about the people? We talk about LNG but nothing good has happened.
The people of Hela are still in darkness.
Now the government is looking at the Gulf LNG project where drilling has completed and they are ready to build the processing plant.
The people of Gulf are still in the dark but the developer is already in action. People come and do whatever they want to do and take our oil, gas, gold and other resources.
The Government is being manipulated by developers and
citizens are struggling as a
result.
Apec has opened the doors for investors to come into the country and many Papua New Guineans will have access to employment but does the Government have investment policies in place
that can help improve the standard of living for all Papua New Guineans?
A housing scheme will be great so people can live in their homes and pay government tax happily.
