Highlands birds fly to Digicel Cup finals

•  CONGRATULATIONS to the Goroka Bintangor Lahanis for reaching the grand final of this year’s Digicel Cup championship.
  My words of appreciation to sponsor Simon Sia and the Bintangor franchise team, the coaching staff, the medics, management and the players.
  I support Gerard Saleu’s letter (The National Aug 28) on the rise of the Lahanis in 2018.
  Goroka Bintangor Lahanis simply eliminated everything in their way to get to the final on Sunday at the National Football Stadium, in Port Moresby.
  One more elimination this weekend and the spoils will be taken to Goroka and displayed at the Bintangor shop in town for all to see and cherish.

•  CONGRATULATIONS to Enga Mioks for making it to the grand final after years of struggle.
  It has been a tough journey to the grand final but 2018 has been a stellar season.
  I commend the team management for having faith in experienced players like Emmanuel John, former Hunter Esau Suine, former Muruks Kot Kerowa, and powerhouse Supa Kokote (captain).
  Thumbs up to coach Timothy Lepa for making this year a memorable one for all the diehard followers of the Enga Mioks.
  A big thank you to Governor Peter Ipatas for making every moment a moment to remember.
