THE Goroka Athletics Association will host the Highlands Regional Athletics Championship from May 16-18 at the National Sports Institute in Goroka, Eastern Highlands.
NSI Athletics technical officer Philip Kamane said the competition provided the best chance for Highlands provincial teams preparing for the PNG Games in November  to test themselves.
Kamane said provincial teams, clubs, schools and associations planning to participate at the championships were required to confirm their participation by contacting or send the entries addressed to Kamane on phone: 532 2391 or fax: 532 1941.
He said competition entries were for the under-14s for sprints events only and relays; U16s and open male and female for all events.
Two elite athletes would be allowed to enter per team per event.
Proof of age is required for entries to be eligible for the U14 and U16 divisions.
Kamane said the entry fees would be K100 per team and a flat rate of a K2 competition fee per athlete.
The invitation was open to all athletics member associations, provincial teams, clubs and schools to participate.
