A 10-seater Land-cruiser hired by Waste Co PNG ended up on the wrong side of Waigani Drive in the National Capital District last Friday.

The accident occurred next to the WR Carpenters head office.

Waste Co PNG chief executive officer Jerry Demoi said the vehicle had been hired for three months by a John Nema.

Demoi confirmed two of the company’s employees had been involved in the accident that took place at 10am.

Witness Wesley Clive, an employee of Gala Industries, said the vehicle had overtaken four cars before trying to overtake a fifth vehicle when the driver lost control.

Clive said the vehicle ran into a wrecked vehicle that had been left roadside from a previous crash.

The vehicle then flipped, throwing a passenger out the window.

The driver and passenger were taken to the hospital by a passing Guard Dog security vehicle.
