Hohola league passing hat around
The National, Wednesday March 26th, 2014
THE Hohola Off-Season League is appealing to local politicians and business houses to support their grand final programme.
The league needs K20,000 for cash prizes and awards to stage its first ever grand final after seven years.
President Gairo Gavu called on the National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and Moresby North West and Health Minister Michael Malabag to lend a hand.
“Both MP’s have not even funded the league since it started its 2013 and 2014 off-season and should step in and bail us out,” Gavu said.
Gavu said if any funds had been allocated to the league, the executives were not aware of it.
He said the league was under new management headed by him and were determined to deliver.
“All our funds from affiliation fees are exhausted due to administrative costs and maintenance of the oval,” Gavu said.
“Since the season started the competition was trouble free to date because of the partnership and relationship with the clubs and their management including the players at large.”
