DIGICEL Cup frontrunners Lae Snax Tigers and Agmark Rabaul Gurias were edged by home sides Enga Mioks and Waghi Tumbe respectively in round 10 on Sunday.
The Tigers’ unbeaten run was halted by Mioks, who won 22-18, while Tumbe secured a 20-16 victory to hand Gurias their second loss of the season.
But the Tigers still maintain top spot with 17 points followed by the Gurias (16), Tumbe (15), Goroka Lahanis (11), Gulf Isou (10), Hela Wigmen (9), Mt Hagen Eagles (9), Central Dabaris (8), Mendi Muruks (8), Mioks (7), NCDC Port Moresby Vipers (6) and Kimbe Cutters (4).
Cutters upset Isou 22-18 for their second win at home.
Round 11 will feature the top-of-the-table clash between Gurias and the Tigers at the Kalabond Oval in Kokopo.
It will be interesting as Tumbe are breathing down the necks of Gurias and the Tigers, and any slip-up could be costly.
