THE National Alliance should take its party leadership dispute elsewhere and not bother the nation with it, PNG First Party secretary-general Peter Honale has said.

He said the six million people of Papua New Guinea had been roped into in-house matters which should concern only the NA and not the country.

“The National Alliance party is just one of 30-odd political parties in PNG that has its own laws, policies and problems.

“Why should the country be involved in their party politics?

“NA laws are not the same as PNG laws, and PNG laws are designed to safeguard the interests of the people of PNG.

“NA laws and policies are not.”

Honale said there were major problems to solve such as the K125 million Nasfund contributors’ funds going to just one district, National Planning suddenly becoming a financial institution by letting a man walk off with K10 million to start an airline business and the deteriorating road conditions between Lae and Lake Kopiago.

Honale said it did not matter to the people of PNG whether Sir Michael Somare was Prime Minister, or Sam Abal, Don Polye, Peter O’Neill, Luther Wenge or whoever.

“This government must continue to keep the country steady until 2012,” he said.

He said the situation in NA had exposed greed, a hunger for power, disrespect for the Grand Chief and an arrogant attitude.

“We do not want to know about the NA’s  in-house problems – take it to Jiwaka, Kokopo or somewhere and solve it between yourselves,” Honale said.
