Honours for Roika, Haoda

 EIGHTY-NINE people, including Central Governor MP Kila Haoda, have been recognised for their services to the country in the PNG New Year’s Honours list.

Governor-General Sir Michael Ogio released the list yesterday in 11 categories.

The highest recognition of Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu (Chief) has been  awarded to Catholic priest Chris Blouin and Lucas Roika ISO for their 45 years of service each to their communities. 

Haoda, Catholic priests Don Grant and Lino Pedercini and Paul Undi Nand were awarded the Companion of the Order of the Star of Melanesia (CSM)

Haoda was recognised for his service to commerce and business development and the communities of West New Britain and Central and for his present leadership role as Governor of Central.

The Officer of the Order of Logohu (OL) was awarded to Michael McWalter and Janet Roland Sios. 

Solomon Divina was among nine others awarded the Member of the Order of Logohu (ML) for services to the community, healthcare and the peace process in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville

The other recipients in 11 categories were recognised for their services.
