Hotel helps NRL Bid

HOLIDAY Inn has joined the growing ranks of highly respected and regarded corporate brands to support the PNG NRL Bid and is now the officially home and headquarters of the bid committee.
When announcing the sponsorship yesterday at Holiday Inn, the chairman of the PNG NRL Bid Committee and Sports Minister Philemon Embel said Holiday Inn had been a silent sponsor since day one by providing space for the bid team.
Other corporate bodies who have announced their support include Coca Cola Amatil (PNG) and Airlines of PNG.
With the sponsorship now, the Minister said officially announced that Holiday Inn would be the spot for rugby league identities and officials as the Bid programme heats up.
The Bid will host special events at the hotel as it becomes the hub of rugby league planning.
Embel said Holiday Inn was now the official accommodation for the PNG NRL Bid by coming in now to support this National Impact Project.
“The sponsorship announcement will send a powerful message to Australia and they would be aware that the PNG Government, corporate community and people of PNG are serious about the bid,” Embel said.
The Sports Minister said: “Holiday Inn is a proven sponsor to the NRL. I applaud their vision in recognising the value of PNG getting a licence in the NRL and their support to our endeavours as we work towards accomplishing the ultimate prize.
The PNG Government has made the decision to initiate this project to seek a license.

General manager for Holiday Inn (Port Moresby) Geoff Haigh strongly supported the Bid initiative from the outset.
“We know how much Papua New Guineans love their rugby league and Holiday Inn is a long standing official partner to rugby league.”
We host many rugby league identities and we want to do what we can for this project.
