A WOMAN escaped with her two children after the family home was burnt to the ground over the weekend.
Eyewitnesses saw the husband running out of the house in Port Moresby after his wife and children had fled.
A neighbour said the couple had an argument before the woman was seen leaving with her children at about 11.30am last Saturday.
The man and his neighbours watched hopelessly as the fire razed the three-bedroom home on Silkwood Street, Hohola No.3, NCD.
Firemen arrived 20 minutes later but could not save the home.
Officials from Digicel, whose tower is located about 5m from the home, arrived to ensure the blaze did not spread to their facility.
They confirmed later that the tower was not damaged by the fire.
Digicel mobile communication network around Murray Barracks and Hohola were not affected.
No comment could be obtained from police.
