Housing advance

Letters

AS a contributing member of Nambawan Super Ltd, I wish to raise some essential points which I think the management of this thriving superfund should take heed of for the benefit of all contributors.
These relate to housing loan benefit for members and the relaxing of rules and guidelines of land ownership issues.
Housing loan advance is good, but under the current rules and guidelines, it is very difficult to secure that component without fulfilling certain guidelines in order to be eligible.
In my opinion, the Nambawan Super management is unnecessarily too stagnant and rigid by adapting rules that are old-fashioned.
It is unwilling to move with the latest phase of time and development which is happening all
around us. By this, I mean that not everyone can and will own a piece of land in towns or cities.
On the other side of the coin, there are some windows of opportunity that do exist.
For instance, not all the land is owned by a clan or a tribe.
There are peices of land which are owned by individuals or small family groups who are willing to sell or lease their land for such developments. Nambawan Super should take into consideration applications from members who will shortly retire from active service within a year or two.
Allow them to secure housing loans and start building their own house.
This will enable them to do a smooth transition from the employer’s house to their own without any major hassle.
This kind of arrangement is not possible with Nambawan Super these days simply because it does not exist. Also, not everyone will want to go back to their home provinces to build their houses there.
Any applicant under this category can be checked and verified by the society through the applicant’s employer, as to the authenticity of the application before approving the loan. I suggest Nambawan Super should review and relax their rules and guidelines and deal with each applicant on its own merits.
Most importantly, do not forget that the housing loan component will be repaid by the member.
