Being a facilitator in Papua New Guinea, the High Performance Sports (HPS) hosted an information session with students from the Institute of Business University (IBSU) at the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre in Port Moresby on Thursday.
“The session was aimed at training and developing elite athletes, who do not know their talent,” HPS training and development coordinator Kepa Darima.
“We are not only here for schools but for private and public organisations, and the public.”
Darima said some of the students were excited about the prospect of taking up sports.
He took the students on a tour of the gym, poolside and main playing areas.
HPS assured the students that they would assist them after a talent identification programme.
The idea of helping the students take up their sporting strong suit had attracted the attention of most of the participants.
David Deasi, a third-year human resources student, commended the HPS staff for the effort they put in to identifying talented athletes and helping them maximise their potential.
