A SCHOOL headmaster from Lagai Primary School, in Menyamya, Morobe, planted a taro in the school yard this time last year and did not think much about it.
Misek Peter spent much of this year at Balob Teachers College in Lae to undertake studies for a Diploma in Education certificate.
After completing studies three weeks ago, he had been waiting around in the city to collect his certificate.
At the end of last week he was pleasantly surprised when his wife brought the taro down for him to see.
Weighing about 9kg his first thought was to bring it to The National office and show it off.
Peter said the envy of many people would end up in a taro and lamb flap mumu for his family to enjoy.
