Minister for Bougainville Affairs and Regional Member for Bougainville Joe Lera is adamant in building and improving the human resource capacity for Bougainville.
James Hasunn, representing Lera’s officer, said this to 53 graduating ITI students last Tuesday.
Hasunn said  education was one of high priorities under Lera’s vision and development pillars.
He said under the education pillar Lera wanted to develop and improve Bougainville’s human resources in three categories – professionals, a skilled workforce and a literate society.
Hasunn said the minister was also serious about establishing the Manetai Institute of Higher Education, Science and Technology and was working hard to make funds available for the project. The establishment of the ITI branch in Bougainville was the initiative of Lera with the support from the management of ITI and the ABG government to provide quality education to the people.
He encouraged the graduates to further excel in their studies and to contribute into Bougainville’s public service and private sector.
