MORE than 800 people have been baptised following a week-long crusade hosted by the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Jiwaka recently.
According to Paul Kos, Adventist communication/media director in the province, the church in Jiwaka had seen an influx of people requesting for baptism. He said the Holy Spirit moves to touch the hearts and minds of the people in accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
“Over 800 souls, young and old, made their decision to accept Jesus Christ and go through the water of baptism on a Saturday (Sabbath) after one week of open crusades being conducted at 28 different sites throughout the province,” Kos said.
Pr Luke Nathan, the general-secretary for Western Highlands Mission of the SDA Church, was one of the guest speakers at the week-long evangelistic meetings conducted throughout the province.
He officiated at the baptism of 107 candidates at Dona in North Waghi. This event was part of total member involvement (TMI) programme initiated by the World Church of the Seventh-Day Adventist around the globe.
