HUNDREDS of people living between Kerowagi station and Deng-Kewamugl in Kerowagi district, Simbu, are celebrating the opening of new road.

MP Camillus Dangma (pictured)funded the re-building of bridges, including the one at Tem Creek and upgraded the road.

Darambuno villagers welcomed Dangma when he paid a surprise visit to them.

Village spokesman Namba Boi said the road was finally being upgraded, giving them easy access to Kerowagi, Kundiawa and other towns.

“We now realise that the road has finally brought changes into our lives. We have been carrying coffee, garden produce, store goods, school and health supplies on our shoulders,” Boi said.

Village chief at Niglpalange Papa John thanked Dangma for upgrading the road and repairing bridges.

“Improved roads and bridges have finally made our lives easy but I want you to continue to work on the Aglnigle bridge which has been left unattended by a local contractor engaged to do the job,” John said.

He said the Aglnigle creek had claimed many lives during flooding and heavy rains. John called on Dangma to build a bridge to complete the road that was upgraded.
