Hundreds expected for church 70th anniversary

THIRTY-FOUR Assemblies of God (AOG) churches from Mt Sanai church district in Western Highlands will stage a combined 70th anniversary celebration this month along with churches throughout the country.
These churches are from Mul-Baiyer, Tambul-Nebilyer and Dei electorates of Western Highlands.
Other AOG churches in Western Highlands will also celebrate the 70th anniversary in their respective churches and locations.
Mt Sanai district is expecting hundreds of Christians to come together at Kelinga church ground to take part in celebrations.
Organising committee chairman Wilson Kingal said celebrations would be from Nov 12-16.
Kingal said the AOG Church began its first ministry at Hayfield, Elegita, Maprik and Wewak in East Sepik in Nov 1948.
He said Christians from other denominations were welcome to join in celebrations.
“What we will be doing at Mt Sanai is to praise God and thank him for his care and support towards the AOG for 70 years,” Kingal said.
“Doing something in God’s Kingdom is not a waste.
“It will bring much in return.”
