Hunters face final hurdle

Letters

THE SP Hunters have been perennial under-achievers since their inception.
It is a fair to say that the they have been an NRL side in
the Queensland Rugby League (QRL).
It is the only team that trains fulltime, with a fulltime on-the-job support staff, a local feeder intercity competition and strong corporate and government support.
The rest of the QRL teams train two or three times a week as most players have a day job.
The main challenge for the Hunters has been to find a finals gear.
It is a psychological step more than anything else and the onus is on the coaching staff to make sure the boys are mentally prepared for the challenge. It’s time to take the final step into history.
