THE NATIONAL is the official newspaper of the SP PNG Hunters.
PNGRFL chief executive officer Reatau Rau signed the two-year agreement with The National’s marketing manager Veronica Marshall yesterday in Port Moresby.
Rau said the rugby league was pleased to partner with The National because of its wide circulation as well as its consistent coverage of the sport.
“The PNGRFL is happy to build a partnership with the country’s leading daily,” Rau said.
“The National has a very good circulation and reaches all the four regions of the country and has consistently covered the sport over the years.
Rau said the Pacific Star Limited newspaper had a big advantage of having a press in Lae and as such was able to deliver more papers rapidly to that part of the country reaching a large population.
The deal will give the paper exclusive coverage on Hunters news in terms of games, team and player news as well as new developments in the Hunters programme.
The other areas of the PNGRFL are also part of the agreement including the schools rugby league programme, Confederate news, the Digicel Cup, PNG Kumuls and PNG Orchids.
The Post Courier were the Hunters previous official paper.
