Hunters not getting any rest despite Q-Cup in recess

AS the Q-Cup goes into a recess with the representative weekend, defending champions the SP PNG Hunters will have 10 of their squad involved in the Pacific test on Saturday.
The Hunters lost a dour affair 8-6 to the Ipswich Jets in their Intrust Super Cup round 15 clash last Friday at the North Ipswich Reserve.
The loss sees the South Pacific Brewery-sponsored side drop to 11th spot from 9th and while the other sides in the competition will get a week off, the Hunters key personnel including playmakers Ase Boas and Watson will be expected to have input in the match against the Bati at Campbelltown Sports Ground, Sydney.
Hunters coach Michael Marum will also don the national coach’s cap taking charge of a side that had success in the annual mid-season fixture — the Kumuls won their last two Pacific tests against the Cook Islands and Fiji.
Hunters in the Kumuls: Adex Wera, Enoch Maki, Junior Rau, Nixon Put, Stanton Albert, Thompson Teteh, Watson Boas, Willie Minoga, Rhadley Brawa, Ase Boas.
The other Q-Cup players in the Kumuls are Rod Griffin (Townsville), Richard Pandia (Ipswich) and Luke Page (Burleigh).
