I was never consulted, ex-minister tells inquiry

FORMER Minister of Justice and Attorney-General Ano Pala told the Commission of Inquiry into the Union Bank of Switzerland loan deal yesterday that he was never consulted on the negotiations.
Pala, who made a brief appearance at the hearing, said he was the attorney-general from June 17, 2014.
He said during his term he was not involved and had never been consulted.
“Normally we as ministers are consulted before the matters come to cabinet. I felt that all the consultations were done outside,” Pala told the inquiry.
“As a member of the cabinet, we are made aware of the submissions before being put through but in this case I was not consulted,” he said.
“I’m prepared to give information to that effect.
“Any information I got at that time would have been the same as what was presented in cabinet so I’m prepared to go back and cross check the documents.”

  • It was not Ano Pala who was consulted as the minister for Justice & Attorney General but Peter O`Neil, the Speaker and the Clerks or syndicate in Parliament who now see fit to go ahead and hide the 4 important documents as evidence against them all.
Don`t waste time arrest them all.

  • PNG is now suffering from this stupidity, while they are now enjoying with the families. This simply pure genocide

  • Even if you were consulted, Ano Pala, what advice would you have given on that UBS loan? Knowing you, you would have simply gone along with O’Neil if there was something for you but you were left out. Now its your time to bring it all out because you missed out on the proceeds!

  • Mr Ano, You werent needed to be consulted coz Oh-Nail knows you are his puppet.
Besides-Can the COI focus on how to find thse missing docs and/or get those who directly supposed to responsible for the safe keeping of them files rather???
