THE Ijivitari district development authority (DDA) has approved the construction of a K1 million coffee mill at Afore Station in Northern.
Ijivitari MP and vice-minister assisting prime minister on direct foreign investment Richard Masere told The National the DDA board passed the resolution during a recent meeting at Tahama.
He said the DDA also approved that Pavillion Construction and Logistic Ltd will carry out the public investment programme’s K5 million Afore road upgrading.
Masere said K500,000 would be allocated from the 2020 budget.
He said the balance would be settled using the 2021 budget.
Masere said funding was also committed to Sakarina Primary School classrooms for grades 7 and 8, Dea Primary School and a new truck for Bareji High.
“I look forward to presenting these cheques no later than November 2020,” he said.
Masere and his team was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the people of the Afore local level government.
“We were simply awed by their preparation, reception and support when we drove from Beama (Orobay LLG) to Tahama (Afore LLG), the location of our DDA meeting,” he said.

  • sure hope it eventuates. Previous Member, DA is from the area but in his two terms in office, he failed to seal the Arek highway. Travelling to Afore in a vehicle is like sailing in a boat. Only time will tell if MPRM is genuine.
