Impounding cabs not a solution to congestion

I DO not think impounding illegal taxis is a solution to the traffic congestion in Port Moresby. It would not support the idea of nationals owning and operating businesses.

It may be true that they are breaking the law but how would MVIL, as an SOE, help our own people?

The motor vehicle policy was made some 10-15 years ago and does not address current problems.

So amendments should be considered.

We should also be pressuring the government to build new road links or bridges and import trams, trains and railways.

It is time we think big and not confine ourselves to within our own offices, villages, localities or customs.

Our roads, bridges, buildings, wharves and airports are from the colonial days and we should start inventing and producing new things for ourselves.

Other countries have already gone to the moon and tested vehicles that can go to the deepest part of the ocean.

Election is weeks away and we need to elect those who have the vision to transform PNG.

Now is the opportunity for the people to identify greedy, selfish, corrupt and biased leaders and vote for those who have the ambition and heart for the people.

I call on the Daulo people to think conservatively, holistically and sustainably while casting their vote.

Daulo has been rated the least-developed district in EHP over the past 25 years.
