Improper appointment

Letters

TEACHERS in National Capital District did not receive their notice-of-appointment to know where they will be teaching this year.
All they were told was to go back to their old schools and check to confirm their postings.
This is very unprofessional and leads to confusion and uncertainty.
There is a lot of interference because there is no proper data.
This has caused the appointment of teachers to be in chaos.
This is going to be a very important year because of standard-based curriculum to be implemented.
If the appointments are not done correctly and on merit, then how can the standard-based education be effective?
NCD education division, under the current administration, has not always been fair with the appointments. Many good initiatives like ‘Read PNG Programme’ for classroom library, school learning improvement plans (SLIP), EQTV Programmes and outcome-based education have not been well implemented.
They are non-existent in NCD schools because of improper appointment of teachers.
