Improve food quality

Letters

IT is about time someone looks at food outlets and restaurants in Port Moresby.
I recently came to notice a food outlet that is regularly frequented by Papua New Guineans and foreigners.
While the surrounding is comfortable and pleasant, the quality of their food is in fact second rate.
Their coffee is either burnt or over roasted to the point where the bean has totally dried out and is devoid of any of its natural oils.
I am told that they buy green coffee beans and roast them.
Their effort to cut costs is appreciated but their coffee is poor in taste and gives a bad example of what PNG has to offer. Employ a professional roaster or buy a better quality product from the professionals, PNG coffee of course.
The pastries are second rate as most are heavy and over cooked.
Many of the breads are hard, dry and flavourless and can almost be used as weapon.
The pies are overpriced almost vegan as there is little evidence of any meat in them.
I would suggest the operators start eating what they sell and they would be very disappointed in their food and coffee products.
There is always room for improvement.
