THE Westpac Bank PNG recently marked the first anniversary of its in-store banking outlet, noting that feedback from customers has been positive.

Head of retail banking Adam Downie said: “In-store banking provides locals with access to banking services at their doorsteps instead of travelling long distance and queuing in branches for basic transactions.”

Westpac PNG has in-stores in every province with a total of 69 in-stores alongside 16 branches nationwide.

The first in-store banking outlet was opened at LT Trading, Tubusereia village, Central.

Managing director Geoff Toone said Westpac’s in-store banking initiative showed Westpac’s commitment to deliver “everywhere banking” to remote communities.

Toone said the key aim of “everywhere banking” was to bring the grassroots into the banking system through initiatives such as the in-store scheme and encourage them to save money and transact with convenience and efficiency.
