A PRIVATE Indonesian university will hold an expo in West Sepik to offer nursing, economics  and information technology studies to students living along the border with Indonesia, Indonesian consular Elmar Iwan Lubis says.

“The Esa Unggul University based in Jakarta will host the expo in Vanimo on Thursday,” he said.

“It is our initiative to invite the Esa Unggul University academic team because the university has opened its scholarship programme to Papua New Guinea students especially those residing along the border.

“During the expo, university lecturers will brief students and visitors about studying opportunities.”

Lubis said participants could also get information on other scholarships offered by the Indonesian Government this year such as Darmasiswa and BSBI.

West Sepik Governor Amkat Mai is expected to open the expo and sign an education agreement with the Esa Unggul University regarding scholarship programme for West Sepik students.

“Indonesia and PNG signed a memorandum of understanding  on education cooperation in 2013,” he said.

“Through this expo and scholarship programme, the relationships of two countries are stronger.

“Scholarship and study in Indonesia bring positive pathways for youths in Vanimo to reach their dreams.”
