AN industrial park in Madang is one of the projects targeted by the ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry.
And Minister Richard Maru is urging departments under the ministry to deliver three key projects including the park by October this year.
Departments and agencies under the ministry include the department of trade, commerce and industry, Investment Promotion Authority, Industrial Centre’s Development Corporation, Small Business Development Corporation and National Institute of Standards and Industrial Technology.
Maru said among the key projects to be completed were the industrial park, small and medium enterprise (SME)stimulus package, online registration of companies, launching of a new SME policy, securing land for a new industrial park in NCD, enacting a new special economic zone authority legislation, progressing the Baiyer River dairy cattle project, establishing the credit guarantee corporation of PNG and introducing the stret pasin stoa business scheme.
Maru said the ministry planned to host a national SME summit to agree on a new national content legislation and business empowerment act to support indigenous business sector.
