Informal sector law constantly being abused

I AM angry with the way our people continuously abuse the informal sector law that was passed without much thought in parliament.
The rights and well-being of every citizen have been marginalised due to misconception and application of the law which
is unworkable given our cultural background of
no-care attitude.
The understanding of the majority of our people in the country who are semi- or uneducated are now resorting to selling buai and loose cigarettes to earn a living.
This has also led to urban drift at an alarming rate.
Port Moresby has, in recent months, seen a sharp rise in street sellers trading freely without any regard to minimum health standard and laws regarding littering.
Where is the NCDC and what are its officers planning to do?
It should provide leadership and revisit the application part of the informal sector law and make sure stringent controls are in place.
Please stop all illegal buai markets in front of residential properties like the one opposite Ela Murray School and Marimari Lutheran church because of the smell and rubbish generated.
The ball is in your court, Governor Powes Parkop.
