Ingipa returns as registrar of cooperative societies

FORMER registrar of co-operative societies Joseph Ingipa was last week re-appointed to his old job.
Ingipa’s re-appointment became effective on Nov 16.
He replaces incumbent Henry Foieke.
Ingipa has served the Office of the Co-operative Societies from 2007 until his revocation on January 20.
He has overseen major achievements such as the establishment of Co-operative Societies regional centres, the Revolving Fund Credit Facility; the development of the Co-operative Societies Development Policy and implementation strategies and action plans in line with the PNG’s Vision 2050.
Ingipa thanked Foieke for leading the Office of the Co-operative Societies for the past 10 months. 
Ingipa thanked the Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry Charles Abel for having confidence in him.
Cooperative Societies is an office of the Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry and is responsible for registering cooperatives while providing advice on how to operate small community-based businesses in rural areas.
No reason was given by the Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry for the change.
