Institute seeking industry feedback on representation of women

THE PNG Institute of Directors (PNGID) will be releasing a draft form this week to get industry feedback on women representation on boards of companies, vice-president Sharon Kupp-Tengdui says.
She told the PNGID women on board breakfast in Port Moresby yesterday that they had a target to have 30 per cent female board representation by 2030 in its board gender diversification action plan.
“In pursuit of this, we have a foresight plan which we will be including in our action plan and we look forward to receiving your insightful feedback on the 30 per cent female representation on board by 2030 for major companies and corporate bodies,” she said.
Kupp-Tengdui said the Women on Board Breakfast was the first of its kind and would be held annually.
The event was directed to addressing one of the institute’s strategic initiatives and that was to equip and encourage the growth and development of female directors. “Initially when we went out to gauge your feedback on whether or not you would like to have a breakfast or not, or engagement that brought females together to discuss issues related to diversification in board, we’ve had phenomenal feedback,” she said.
