MAPEX Training Institute (MTI) in Lae has graduated its first batch of students from its business course on Wednesday.
The students graduated with certificates in sales and marketing, computing, information technology, logistics and supply chain management, domestic airlines fares and ticketing, customs and freight forwarding management, tourism and hospitality management, operational health and safety, human resource management, banking and finance, business management, ports and shipping management and accounting.
MTI managing director Marcus Kara told the 250 graduating students during the graduation yesterday that there were no failures in education.
“The only time a person is left out or dropped from being considered to further his or her education at a higher level is when spaces are limited,” Kara said.
He said school leavers at the end of grades eight, 10 and 12 were not failures but were only victims of the education system in the country.
Kara told the students had a right to pursue their education despite being pushed from the formal education system and only needed the opportunity.
