INSURANCE payments for vehicle accidents will be released promptly if people meet the requirements with proper documents, the chairman of Motor Vehicle Insurance Dr Ken Ngangan said.
“MVIL will assist people involved in vehicle accidents with funeral and medical expenses before burial,” Ngangan said.
“Most time people in rural areas have spent much travelling to Port Moresby to get documents done regarding road accidents that occurred in previous years.
“The new MVIL board has partnered with management to strengthen the business to look after the policy of vehicle owners in country.”
Ngangan warned people not to submit false pictures and documents.
Chief executive officer John Wemin said the Government considered the need for an office in Manus and went ahead and set one up.
“We are happy that the internal revenue will assist other developments in the province. In past years we have had problems with traffic, vehicle registrations and unroadworthy vehicles,” Manus Governor Charlie Benjamin said. People will no longer have to travel to Port Moresby for the service.
