NATIONAL Teachers Insurance Limited (NTIL) is hoping for a double celebration as the Pacific International Hospital indoor cricket enters its finals this weekend.

The 2014 men’s champion and 2015-16 minor premier will, however, have to contend with fourth-placed Tent Manufacturers in one of the two cup semi-finals tomorrow at the Amini Park nets to have a crack at the title.

Tent upset Puma Energy two weeks ago when the men from Hanuabada successfully defended 83 runs to keep their finals hopes alive and they are raring to go all the way.

NTIL has already secured a final berth in the plate decider of the mixed competition against Digicel tomorrow.

The insurers scored two strong wins in succession in the men’s division – first against PIH in a high-scoring match and last weekend over BSP – to top the competition.

NTIL chased down 176, finishing with 194 in an aggressive run chase against PIH and gained much-needed bonus points.

Last weekend, NTIL batted first and made 113 and stopped BSP on 84.

BSP, previously one of the two top teams, was upset by PAG the previous weekend, enabling the brokers a top three finish. PAG takes on one of the competition’s front-runners Puma Energy in the other semi-final. The two semi-final winners meet in the grand final on Sunday.

In the cup mixed semi-finals, Avis Rent-A-Car takes on Southern Cross Assurance and Tent Manufacturers plays PAG.

Avis takes on ANZ in the men’s plate grand final.
