Interim PNGRFL team resolves to have four committees oversee sport
THE interim PNG Rugby Football League management team had resolved in their first meeting on Saturday at Ela Beach Hotel to appoint four committees to oversee the game until the annual general meeting in November.
The likely candidates will come from the business sector, government and private sector to form a junior, development, finance and operation committees to oversee game on interim basis.
According to Michelle Monsour of PNGNRL, the former Chief Magistrate John Numapo, who spearheaded the meeting, was advised that the funding by AusAID for rugby league would be now managed by the Australia Rugby League.
The money would be released based on evidence and receipt of job prescription.
It is understood that AusAID has made available K50 million for development of rugby league at the grassroots and school level.
She also said Numapo had been tasked to oversee the set up of the committee.
The meeting also confirmed that Adrian Lam will continue as coach along with trainer Mathew Natush.
Both will discuss with the PNGRFL selectors headed by Arnold Krewanty to come up with a team for the Prime Minister XIII later in October, and the squad for the Four Nations Cup in November.
