THE International School of Lae in Morobe will host its annual open day today.
Principal Andrew Read said the day would be used as another “normal day in class for students” instead of an exhibition or other special activities.
“The Open Day is an opportunity for parents and prospective students to visit TISOL and experience life and learning during a typical day at school,” Read said.
He said there had been a noted increase in the involvement of parents as they were now realising that education was important.
“Parents are realising that education will guarantee the security of their children and family in future.
“People serious about securing this future should invest in an education,” he added.
According to Read, the school does its own assessment on the quality of education it was providing.
“The school’s early learning centre is a standout feature of the school as it prepares the students with alphabetical and numerical knowledge before they move to the preparatory level,” he said.
He urged parents to come along and see what TISOL had to offer.
“Many parents find this to be an invaluable opportunity to learn more about how their child learns and the contemporary strategies and approaches to learning employed by our highly qualified staff,” Read added.
The programme starts at 8am and ends after the school’s presentation of its curriculum at 11.30am in the school library.
