Intertek acquires Pacifica Marine

INTERTEK, a leading global provider of quality and safety solutions, has acquired Pacifica Marine, a marine cargo inspection and surveying company operating in Papua New Guinea.
Enhanced OnlineNews said Pacifica Marine provided a wide scope of survey, inspection and marine insurance-related services.
Expertise includes bulk cargo inspection, hull and machinery surveys, loading and discharge supervision and inspection, P&I club surveys and investigation, supervision of quality analysis and cargo inspections associated with large LNG projects.
Pacifica Marine has supported the PNG petroleum and agricultural industries since 2002.
The addition of Pacifica Marine complements Intertek operations at the Napanapa oil refinery and minerals facilities in Lae and Alotau.
Jay Gutierrez, executive vice-president of Intertek’s oil, chemical and agri division, said: “Intertek is committed to providing our customers with comprehensive, value-added services.
“The addition of Pacifica Marine in PNG benefits clients and increases our already substantial service levels in the region,” he said.
