INTERVENERS in a special reference questioning the legality of an audit report for the Covid-19 funds have filed their statements in response to the reference.
The special reference is filed by Opposition Leader Belden Namah which has raised legal issues against forensic accountant Andy Pape, who was engaged by State of Emergency (SoE) Controller David Manning to audit a report on the use of the Covid-19 funds.
Supreme Court judge Alan Kingsley David yesterday adjourned the case to Monday to come before Justice Collin Makail for directions.
The interveners in the reference are Attorney-General Dr Eric Kwa, Prime Minister James Marape, Police Commissioner David Manning, forensic accountant Andy Pape, Bank South Pacific, OK Tedi Mining Ltd and the Fly River government.
Namah is claiming that the consultant, Pape, engaged to carry out the audit on the use of donor funds for the Covid-19.
