Intoxicated youths set up roadblocks, rob people: Police

A GROUP of youths from Tokua plantation set up roadblocks using tyres on Tuesday between 3am and 5am, East New Britain police said.
Provincial commander Snr Insp Joseph Tabali said the youths were under the influence of liquor and stoned vehicles going to Tokua Airport.
“Kokopo police response unit members responded and went to the scene and three people were arrested. The rest fled the scene,” Tabali said.
Also at about 4am an armed robbery at Tokua Airport involved four youths with bush knives.
They threatened passengers and grabbed their luggage. They also stole takings from a route 9 bus were stolen.
Police attended to the area but the suspects escaped.
Police are monitoring the Tokua area.
Two suspects in the recent Warangoi robbery were arrested on Tuesday night by Kokopo Response Unit members at Giregire with the help of locals.
