Invest in agriculture

Letters

PAPUA New Guinea can supply the region and the world with food and other agricultural products.
Agriculture has been practised by our ancestors for generations.
The country’s economy can depend mostly on agriculture if we do something about it.
Colonialism resulted in some of our land and resources taken by white settlers.
They used our land and resources to make money and develop our country.
Some of these colonisers thought our people to develop the country through agriculture.
They identified many species of agricultural crops and converted them into valuable economic products.
Most of us have learnt from our parents about how to plant food.
Coconut, cocoa, coffee, vanilla and other crops have sustained economy in the past.
We have to put the money down and get the education system to prioritise agriculture education to teach and train our children to support this.
