Invest in workers

Letters

THE criteria some organisations have set for new recruits, specifically in the technical trades, is of concern.
Some organisations are looking for people who have completed apprenticeships from reputable companies or even small local companies.
Why look for a person who has completed an apprenticeship with a company that invested a lot over the years in their employees when you yourself had not invested in your own workers.
Some companies have not made any effort to send their employees to training or block courses or let alone be registered with the National Apprenticeship and Trades Testing Board (NATTB) so that they can provide apprenticeship training.
We need more companies that can provide apprenticeship for young people who are eager and determined to bring our country forward in terms of human resources development.
