Investigate individual

Letters

THIS message is for the government agencies and the East Sepik provincial administration including the Maprik District Development Authority to investigate.
There is an expatriate allegedly doing alluvial mining up at Amaku River in Kuminimbis village, Maprik.
He has machines operating there and I want to know if the Department of Mining is aware of this.
I wonder if he or his associates have a valid work permit.
Do they have a mining licence for this area?
I have heard that the locals are being treated with laptops and iPads to keep them busy.
Locals in this area have mined alluvial gold for many years.
I am appealing to the correct line agencies of government to investigate this matter.
Landowners should have a proper Incorporated Land Group (ILG) and work in accordance to the laws of our country.
