Investigate schools

Letters

EDUCATION is a privilege and a right for everyone.
To suppress its flow to the recipients by entrusted managers is an injustice to humanity.
There are some schools in Kwikila Town and few other within Rigo, Central, that were run without board of governors (BOG) and ended school last year without a graduation.
The school in Kwikila had been operating without a board for a few years now.
The blame should also lie with district education service for not saying anything about it.
Either it’s the head of the school or his superior’s who are at fault.
Someone has to answer because somewhere down that channel, there are eager and innocent souls waiting to receive their fair share of education.
If there is no BOG, then who controls the finances?
For schools that did not close well or had any graduation, there is only one explanation for that – alleged misuse of funds!
The CEO for Rigo District Development Authority announced during Ruatoka Primary School’s graduation last year that he would lead an investigation into those schools.
If he is serious, he should know that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
There is a root in all the schools.
Finally, I appeal to the people of Kwikila and Rigo no person or authority has the right to misuse funds for a school, or undermine the rights of our children to get educated or and abuse the processes of education and development as a whole.
The challenge now is with the CEO to prove that they are worthy custodians of development in Kwikila and Rigo.
