A POLICE investigator has told a court that two guns and live ammunition found in a company premises in Port Moresby last year belonged to Australian Sean Anthony Honey.
First Constable Robbins Dominic told Magistrate Seth Tanei in the Boroko District Court that a shotgun, pistol and live ammunition were found in Honey’s house.
Dominic said Honey was told to provide the licence for the guns but failed to do so to police.
Defense lawyer Greg Sheppard argued that the property searched was owned by a company run by three people – Sean, Tony and Ben Honey.
Therefore, he said the control of the ammunition could have been under any of the three.
Sheppard asked Dominic if they found any weapon that could discharge the ammunition.
He said no.
Police Prosecutor Sandra Hollands asked Dominic if either Tony or Ben had made any attempt to go to the police to say the items were theirs. He said neither claimed that the items belonged to them.
It is alleged that on Oct 2, a warrant was issued to search Honey’s premises at a construction site on Baruni Road.
Police found an unlicensed shotgun, live ammunition and an unlicensed pistol, methamphetamine and marijuana.
Honey was charged with being in possession of live ammunitions, high-powered guns, dangerous drugs and live bullets.
Magistrate Tanei extended his bail and will hear a no-case to answer submission on January 20.
